Neighbourhood Planner provides a map of England's neighbourhood planning areas and enables anyone to add or modify data on the map.
Neighbourhood planning, introduced by the Localism Act of 2011, empowers local people to get the type of development they want for their community. More and more towns, parishes and other localities are taking up the right to produce a local plan and have this adopted as part of the statutory development plan managed by their local planning authority.
While local planning authorities are obliged to publish information on neighbourhood plans in their area, this information is dispersed and may be out of date.
Neighbourhood Planner is based on information originally collected by the Department of Communities from local authority websites.
Provision of an up-to-date record of local neighbourhood planning activity.
